Antilliaanse film in Muiderkerk

Vooraankondiging: De Legende van Buchi Fil, Verhaal van een Rots
Op 27 augustus 2010 vertoont de Vereniging Antilliaans Netwerk de making of en de film De Legende van Buchi Fil, Verhaal van een Rots. De Legende van Buchi Fil is een fictief verhaal over de strijd van een man voor onafhankelijkheid en eigen waarde, gebaseerd op het gedicht Balada di Buchi Fil van Pierre Lauffer.
Synopsis
Curacao eind 18de eeuw. Elke ochtend doen de slaven hun hoed af voor Bomba als ze naar hun werk lopen, alle slaven behalve Buchi. Hij loopt altijd met zijn kin omhoog rechtstreeks naar zijn werk.
Bomba, de man verantwoordelijk voor het goede werk van de slaven, heeft het al een tijdje gemikt op de brutale slaaf. Maar Buchi is te sterk, een intimiderend figuur en voor de baas veel geld waard. Ooit zal hij hem terugpakken voor zo veel beledigingen. Buchi heeft niets te verliezen, tot hij de slavin Moza Nena ontmoet.
Inleiding en nabespreking met filmmaker
Deze korte speelfilm uit 2008 is geproduceerd en geregisseerd in het kader van een afstudeeropdracht van German Gruber (regisseur), student van de Hogeschool voor de Kunsten te Utrecht. Samen met - onder meer - medestudenten Sulin Passial (uitvoerend producent) en Sharelly Emanuelson (productie assistent) heeft German een prachtige productie neergezet.
Tijdens de bijeenkomst zal Sharelly Emanuelson een korte inleiding geven en na afloop de film met de aanwezigen nabespreken. Tevens zal zij iets vertellen over haar eigen afstudeerproject.
